I have available 81 pieces of Edwin M. Knowles "Princess" China Dinnerware & Serving Pieces. Edwin M. Knowles China Co. Semi-Vitreous. Made in U.S.A. This Princess pattern is discontinued and seems to have been manufactured beginning in 1951. As the business closed it's doors in 1963, this is approximately 60-70 years old and was one of their more popular patterns. The larger pieces are all marked with the 'Semi-Vitreous' Printed Black Maker's Mark.
Edwin M. Knowles
started his pottery company in Chester, West Virginia in 1900. He later expanded into Newell, WV in 1913. Both locations made Knowles dinnerware until the early 1930s when Harker took over production at the Chester plant. The Newell plant continued to make dinnerware until 1963.
Condition: All items have only very light shelf wear to soles as they seem to have been protected in storage. Some pieces show light wear to the gold trim. Most items have crazing and there is staining to some pieces as well. There are no cracks or chips unless specifically metioned by piece. Please use the photos as a guide, and write me with any questions. I'll try to fulfill orders based on your preference for crazing or not; regardless I believe I have priced these to reflect the pieces' condition.
