Magnificent  accessory produced only from 1946 - 49

Crane operates 360 degrees - magnet raises/lowers and energized through controller.

Original motor is the "OO" series and has been totally checked out including; field coil, armature and continuity of all motor parts and wiring connections, and new brushes.  All electrical and mechanical parts have been cleaned, polished, and lubricated with synthetic lubricants and will not degrade or form wax build up. Motor is strong and will last for many years with proper care and maintenance.

Magnet is strong with original harness - excellent condition!.  Wiring has been replaced with the correct gauge and color code. I've also added a few extra inches of wiring to make servicing unit more convenient

Boom is original black painted styrene plastic  - double pulley and guy wire are original!  Booms are typically broken!  String (cable) is the original white in great condition!

Controller is the
RARE GREEN BUTTON
in excellent condition.  All contacts were cleaned, wiring has been replaced with the correct black FC6 wiring.  Controller cable is 5.5 feet, from controller to base, great for those who want to mount under layout.

Platform and tower are repainted
metallic
silver, base original semi gloss black.

Cab is in very good condition, with solid mounts, typical minor bulb melt, also included is a nice
custom light reflector/heat shield to prevent bulb melt

GRAY SMOKE STACK IS ORIGINAL

Copy of operating instructions is included.  Also included is a special publication to better understand the engineering, maintenance, and diagnosis of operation. These cranes were a marvelous toy train invention in the pre/postwar era.
Crane is original except for the items previously mentioned and has been completely restored to like new condition and operates as good, if not better, than new!! This restoration involved 35 + hours of time plus materials, every detail has been restored to perfection! The 182 crane will never be made again!  You will be proud to add this accessory to your collection or layout.
