    Description

Offered for sale is a beautiful BLACK AMETHYST glass VASE made by L.E. Smith.  It has a flared shape and two curved handles extending upward.  Bowls with similar curved handles have been ID'd as L.E. Smith's no. 870 pattern.  The vases were introduced in the 1930s in this black amethyst color as well as cobalt blue.  The pattern was reissued in the 1950s in milk glass.
The vase stands 6 1/4 inches (15.9cm) tall, and measures 2 3/8 inches (6.0cm) across the top.  The base measures
    2 3/4 inches (7.0cm)
in diameter.  This is a high quality work in vintage (not antique) American glass.
It is in perfect condition, with no chips, cracks, scratches or repairs.  There is no discoloration or stains in the glass.  Watch for the other fine items I'm offering for auction or sale this week, including more black amethyst glass!

International customers please be aware that there may be additional import duties and customs fees not included in the price of shipping.  I will do what I can to keep the shipping costs low while still packing each item safely.  Used items will be marked as such on the customs forms, which may reduce or eliminate import fees to some countries.
Good luck and thanks for looking!
