Roma, as seen on bottom mark, is a line of Edwin Knowles China of East Liverpool, Ohio used between 1929 and 1963.
On the outside of the cup is a partial line from the sixth stanza of the english nursery rhyme The House that Jack Built - "This is the cow with the crumpled horn"
The full stanza is:
This is the cow with the crumpled horn
That tossed the dog that worried the cat
That killed the rat that ate the malt
That lay in the house that Jack built.
On the inside of the cup is a picture of the dog that the cow 'tossed'. And the dog looks angry!
Approximately 2-3/4"” Wide at top, 2-1/2” Tall
No chips, cracks or scratches. However there is extensive crazing all over, and some darker bumpy feeling spots where the glaze seems to be thicker.
