Description
Ford 1600 Kent short block with crankshaft and rods but no pistons.691M block (predecessor to 711M) believed to be from an early Pinto 1600.
Cylinders bored from stock 3.187 to to 3.210. Huh?.
Will have to be re-bored for .030 oversize pistons or 3.250 Lotus pistons.
2737E crankshaft and rods from a Cortina GT.
Main and rod journals cut to .010 undersize and provided with new bearings.
Ancillaries as shown in photos.
Ten head bolts but no head.
Six flywheel bolts but no flywheel.
Also a 1600 valve cover and rocker shaft.
This short block is a good base for building a stroker motor from your Elan according to Vizard's classic,
Tuning Twin Cam Fords
I used the 2737E block and 691M crankshaft in my Elan and was pleased with the increased torque.
