Fluorescent mineral rock Chlorophane Fluorapatite Fluorite Franklin H10

Description

This rock weighs 6.9 ounces (195g).
The piece measures 2.75 inches x 1.75 inches x 2.00 inches (6.8 cm x 4.2 cm x 5.0 cm).
Chlorophane fluoresces a nice teal blue color.
How brightly it fluoresces (and phosphoresces) depends upon your lamp and the darkness of the room.
The phosphorescence of this piece seems to glow on and on in a completely dark room with dark adjusted eyes.
Also has fluorapatite (SW orange), and fluorite (LW purple).
See photos.
Chlorophane Phosphoresces very nicely, and sometimes it is best to simply turn off the SW lamp to see all the Chlorophane continue to glow.
Chlorophane is also thermolumenescent.
Photos #1, 2, and 3 are taken in shortwave only. Photos #4 and #5 are taken in Midwave to highlight the fluorapatite, while Photos #6, 7, and 8 are taken with BOTH SW and LW UV at the same time. using the Convoy 365nm light as the longwave UV light source.   This Chlorophane shows well with a good shortwave lamp, and with the longwave Convoy 365nm UV light it has a highly intense, beautiful teal phosphorescence.
However, in my opinion, this is best as a shortwave rock, where the stunning beauty of the teal Chlorophane and orange fluorapatite pair up superbly!
Please note:
It takes dark adjusted eyes and a very good shortwave lamp to see the colors in these photos.
This is not a super bright rock at first glance.
WE BUY OLD FRANKLIN AND STERLING HILL COLLECTIONS, INCLUDING “BASEMENT ROCK BOXES”!
*AN IMPORTANT WORD ABOUT CHLOROPHANE* Chlorophane will, over time, lose its ability to fluoresce if exposed to sunlight and upon multiple UV exposures.
Therefore, it is well advised to keep these rocks in the dark at all times.
The easiest way to do that, in my opinion, is to keep them in one of those holiday cookie tins, or wrapped in aluminum foil, or both.
I keep mine wrapped in dark paper within a cookie tin for double protection.
For shipping purposes, you will receive this purchase wrapped in aluminum foil within bubble wrap for safe shipping.
NOTE: Typical Blacklight UV lights will NOT display any color.
Also, the intensity of the color will vary depending on the strength of the lamp you have.
For a good quality Shortwave lamp at a reasonable price, I suggest you consider the DRK lamp by Engenious Designs.  The manufacturer sells these lamps directly to you (and they are not related to me in any way, and I do not sell these lamps.)
For an excellent Longwave lamp, I recommend you check out the Convoy 365nm UV lamp, which may be purchased for around from multiple sellers on eBay directly from China.
Do NOT spend more than that for a Convoy 365 lamp unless you need it immediately.
The Convoy 365nm lamp puts all far more expensive Longwave lamps to shame time and again.
I have set the shipping as First-Class Mail.
If you plan on bidding on MORE than one rock, let me know BEFORE you pay your invoice, so I may combine shipping to save you money.
I can often fit 5 or even 6 rocks in one box.
* Please note:
I cannot combine shipping on International orders. *
